I have loved ABBA ever since! Unfortunately I don't remember seeing them win because by the time the votes had been counted I had fallen asleep on the sofa and my parents didn't wake me up to see them sing Waterloo the second time. I can still remember how angry I was when I woke up the next day realising what I had missed out on. Mum and Dad: I still haven't forgiven you!
Nowadays it's not quite the same. Europe has changed A LOT since 1974. There are so many countries in Europe that not everyone can be in the competition because it would go on for, like, ever. Another thing is that the Eastern European countries always friggin' vote for each other so you know from the start that the strongest Eastern European song will win. It doesn't matter if Spain or Iceland has got a better song. They're on the wrong location on the map.
Still, I'm sitting here watching it and I miss Terry Wogan taking the piss out of everyone. Graham Norton is commenting this year and he's doing his best to be sarky. I'm sure he'll get there if he keeps on doing it as long as Terry.
This year Sweden was represented by Malena Ernman.
She looked stunning but the song... it was pop sung in opera. It was crap! If you come from a country that has produced Eurovision winners such as Carola, Charlotte and ABBA then you have quite a lot to live up to. The pop-opera combo was a bad move, Malena. You should have consulted me beforehand and I could have guided you on that one.
I have to say that Britain was great. I hope Jade wins!

So you mean Europe does its own thing without involving the US? Like Europe is its very own continent? Hmmm.
