So Many Closing Down Sales To Attend

Yesterday I was at work. I say "was at work" because it was so quiet I can't really say that I "was working". Whilst I was sitting in the reception killing time a client kindly informed me that the Mambo shop was closing down and had a massive sale on. I grabbed my coat, told the receptionists I had to go out in an important errand and headed down to Mambo. Pretty much everything was marked down 70% and although most sizes available were 8 (teeny tiny) or 16 (slightly bigger) I did find a couple of things that fit and I love the colours!!

The Rip Curl top and the Mambo Goddess (love the name) board shorts were £3 each! Fingers crossed that I will be able to afford going on holiday soon!

Today I had to go out and invest in a new pair of Converse. My old pair had a hole in them so big that when it was raining I could just as well have walked down the street wearing just socks on my feet. As I was walking back from the shoe shop I walked past Books etc on Victoria Street and guess what? They're closing down as well. Recession seems to be hitting the retail businesses hard. Their sale was not as good as Mambo's but I'm not one to complain. I found two cookery books with recipes I liked the sound of.

I'm looking forward to try "Sauteed Calamari and Vegetables" and "Linguine with a Spinach & Anchovy Sauce".

Talking about food... in the last few days I've made the simplest yet most fabulous soup. Here's the recipe for one person:

0.5 l vegetable stock
a couple of large or a few more small potatoes
a piece of leek
some white cabbage
a large or a couple of small leaves of Savoy cabbage
2 slices of smoked bacon
a teeny weeny bit of red chili
some garlic
a dash of paprika

Chop everything and boil until the potatoes are soft. Goes really well with a glass of red.

That's it from London town this weekend. Enjoy you're evening!
